$32 Billion in defense cuts may be just a beginning

Article Abstract:

The $32 billion in defense cuts that the US Department of Defense (DOD) has commanded armed services to institute might be just a beginning of painful procurement program cuts that will run through the rest of the decade. This budget cut is likely to fall on defense discretionary programs such as weapons platform acquisition, as the Pentagon cannot cut the Personnel's payment, medical treatment and can't abandon veterans' benefits.

Rumsfeld credited for changing military, but was it proper change?

Article Abstract:

This has forwarded issues on whether the Pentagon has ordered more weapons systems from contractors than Congress is willing to fund.
