The advertising and marketing services it offers include training videos, sales and promotion manuals, building exhibit booths for trade shows, print ads, media budgeting and purchasing, direct marketing programs, public relations, technical writing sales promotion and research. It has expanded this year its database marketing and telequalifying. It aims to expand its marketing services internationally.

Guarascio's star continues to rise amid restructuring at GM

Article Abstract:

General Motors Corp's decision to put the company's marketing and advertisingfunction under its North American Operations (NAO) further strengthened Philip Guarascio's control within the organization. Guarascio, who was named NAO's marketing and advertising general manager, was responsible for media-buys that left General Motors millions of dollars in savings. However, analysts believe little change could result from the realignment, branding it as a purely 'cosmetic' measure.

ITT Sheraton Corp (ITT) is using target and niche marketing to reach its customers because it is better than mass media and its effectivity can be measured. This is according to senior VP Robert F. Cotter, who directs worldwide marketing operations for ITT. In addition to this, ITT has a frequent traveler program with over a million members. It also does direct mail marketing to prospective clients based on its customer profile.
