A (super 13)C NMR study of the molecular dynamics and phase transition of confined benzene inside titanate nanotubes

Article Abstract:

The nanoconfinement effect is investigated on the molecular dynamics and phase transition of confined benzene inside titanate nanotube with a uniform inner diameter of ~5.3 nm. The abrupt change of the (super 13)C nuclear spin-spin relaxation time of the confined liquid benzene at about 260 K indicated that the nanoconfinement induced two topologically distinct liquid phases.

Powder crystallography by proton solid-state NMR spectroscopy

Article Abstract:

The investigation on (super 1)H-(super 1)H spin-diffusion build-up curves shows that high-resolution magic angle spinning NMR of protons, applied to powdered organic compounds, provides a method to probe crystalline arrangements. The comparison between experimental (super 1)H data and simulation is shown to depend strongly on the parameters of the crystal structure.

Conservation of (mu)s-ms enzyme motions in the apo- and substrate-mimicked state

Article Abstract:

A comparison of (mu)s-ms dynamics in RNase A in the apo form and as complexed to the substrate-mimic, pTppAp is made by using solution NMR spin-relaxation experiments. The RNase A/pTppAp complex's crystal structure is determined and it shows that this ligand binds at the active site and utilizes established substrate binding sites in its interaction with RNase.
