Acclimation to three different hot climates with equivalent wet bulb globe temperatures

Article Abstract:

The course of acclimation of humans remains same in warm-humid, hot-dry or radiant heat conditions and equivalent in wet bulb globe temperatures (WBGT), and these thermal changes fail to induce any additional physiologic strain. This indicates that industrial workers in the heat can be shifted without any problems to other workplaces with the same WBGT. Sweat loss increases and cardiac strain and rectal temperature decreases after the change from warm-humid to hot-dry condition. WBGT is a good predictor for thermally activated physiological strain.

On the Distributional Conditions for a Consumption- Oriented Three Moment CAPM

Article Abstract:

Sufficient conditions are developed for probability distributions for a consumption-oriented CAPM. The CAPM is used to price a subset of assets correctly. Quadratic characteristic lines are identified for agents with homogeneous probability beliefs and nonincreasing risk aversion. A negative relationship is identified between systematic skewness and asset returns.
