Accountancy firms

Article Abstract:

Accountancy firms are increasingkly involved in management buyouts, and the Big Six accountancy firms can supply a full range of advice for venture capital companies involved in buyouts. Venture capitalists seek business plans and feasibility studies, and private equity suppliers can concentrate on price, exit strategy and value. The Big Six have world wide access to teams that are multidisciplinary. Accountancy firms are also benefiting from greater name recognition when competing in this market.

No more little boxes

Article Abstract:

There is increased demand for multi-disciplinary professional services as the world economy becomes more interdependent and technology affects commercial life. The number of professional firms looks set to drop due to a fall in real economic returns in the enterprise and mid markets. Companies will need to emphasise training and adaptability. Successful companies tend to be those which are prepared to move outside existing frameworks and develop new products.

Jacks of all trades

Article Abstract:

Accounting firms are having to diversify due to external demand and the audit function's move toward a commodity service. Accounting firms are seeking to develop new services such as risk assessment and business advice, including pensions advice. Mergers are likely to be powered by the need to specialise and develop critical mass in certain areas. Business advisory organisations appear to be replacing the big accountancy practices.
