Article Abstract:

The agency concepts from modern business and finance theory are used to assess how the significant restructuring of the Farm Credit System has modified the role of farm credit banks in controlling the system's agency costs. The competitive environment for agricultural bankers in the US

Article Abstract:

A survey of agricultural banks in the US revealed that long-term service from the same loan officer is the most important service a bank can offer to a customer. The availability of pre-set lines and fixed rate real estate loans which permit repayment sans penalty are the two next important services offered by banks to increase competitiveness in agricultural lending in the future.
