Anemic plans drag on corporate profits

Article Abstract:

Many corporate pension plans in the US are mired in deep financial problems. A study shows that 340 corporations in the Standard & Poor's 500 Index would end up with underfunded plans by the end of 2004. The pension plans are having a negative effect on the finances of the companies.
