Article Abstract:

The Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) during 2006 had the opportunity, at a regional level, to input on key issues that affect business based on established member research. Institute members around the UK asserted that business could be better served and more productive, if certain problem issues, such as skills shortages and poor transport infrastructure, are addressed.

US consolidators consolidate

Article Abstract:

American Express is the most prestigious consolidator of accountancy practices in the US, which bought about 130 CPA firms for its Tax & Business Services Group on a larger scale through most of the 1990s and latter re-badged and floated off as 'Ameriprise Financial'. American Express also invested in developing financial advisers to cover pension-type requirements.
