Armor Holdings to buy army truck maker

Armor Holdings Inc., a major armor manufacturer is planning to get into the military vehicles business with the acquisition of an Army truck maker, in a deal worth $755 million. Armor Holdings. Inc. has signed an agreement to acquire Stewart & Stevenson Services, Inc., a producer of military tactical wheeled vehicles including the Family of Medium Tactical Vehicles (FMTV), a primary Army transport.

U.K. Tech firm to boost LockMart's Net-centric ability

The largest defense contractor on the planet, Lockheed Martin Corp. announced that it would buy a U.K. based technology firm STASYS Ltd. to gain increased capabilities in the area of net-centric warfare. Apart from its strong portfolio of products STASYS Ltd. also brings a customer base that includes the U.S. Navy, the U.S. Air force and many more.
