Army Contract (5)

Article Abstract:

Harris Corp., Government Communications Systems Division, Melbourne, Fla., is being awarded an $8,504,804 modification to a firm-fixed-price and time-and-materials contract for the Lightweight Multiband Satellite Terminal (LMST) Program, which provides tri-band super high frequency terminals. The LMST Program will provide smaller, lighter, modular, more flexible terminals to meet the theater deployable communications requirement to provide initial long haul communications for bare-base deployment and augment communications as deployment matures. There are two configurations of LMST terminals: one configuration is housed in a trailer with onboard power source, and the second configuration is packaged in transit cases without a power source. This acquisition is for the option exercise of nine trailerized configuration terminals, nine pack-up kits, and one lot of status reports. Work will be performed in Palm Bay, Fla., and is expected to be completed by July 30, 2000. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. There was an announcement on the electronic bulletin board on Feb. 7, 1995, and eight bids were received. The contracting activity is the U.S. Army Communications & Electronics Command, Ft. Monmouth, N.J. (DAAB07-95-C-A518).
