Big Four auditors and their clients relationship has changed significantly in building tension between auditors and their clients mainly due to the changing regulatory environment. Clients perceive the auditors to be less helpful, less prepared, and less judgmental and to be offloading work and therefore risk onto the client while maintaining or increasing fees.
