BMG & Pioneer promotions support DVD

Bertelsmann Music Group Inc (BMG) and Pioneer Electronic Corp have teamed up for a nationwide promotion being undertaken in Wherehouse Entertainment Inc's and Trans World Entertainment Inc's shops. Wherehouse is offering shoppers 30 Pioneer DVD 5-disc players and five BMG DVD videos and is backing up the promotion with special in-store displays. For its part, Trans World is offering consumers the opportunity to win a free Pioneer DVD 5-disc player and music DVD videos from BMG's most popular recording artists.

Musicmaker & Photo-Me sell custom CDs at kiosks

Article Abstract:

Reston, VA-based Musicmaker.com has formed a partnership with UK-based kiosk manufacturer Photo-Me International. The partnership involves the introduction of walk-up music kiosks in shopping centers and retail music stores. The new distribution system allows consumers to create custom CDs and to personalize the case with graphic art or a personal title. A maximum of 10,000 digitized tracks taken from the musicmaker.com's library of 750,000 songs will be available to consumers for downloading in each kiosk.
