How to profit from registration: once the data's collected, smart marketers mine that database for extra value

Article Abstract:

Companies with Web sites can take advantage of the database which can be generated from the registration of users of their Web sites. They should carefully determine the data they need and how they can assist the users. They should take care that the information gathered is just right to prevent the accumulation of a database which is very difficult to handle. Marketers should pose questions which are usually given to visitors of trade show exhibits to determine whether site users are serious buyers.
