Bandits all round the clock for Vickers

Article Abstract:

Vickers has defended itself against a bid by Mayflower and Vicker's stock pirce has risen while that of Mayflower has dropped. Vickers asked Mayflower if a bid was planned after rumors that this was the case. Mayflower refused to deny it planned a bid, and Vickers then criticised the financing of such a bid. Vickers could still be attractive to predators and could be affected by consolidation in the European defense industry. Vickers could also break itself up to realise stockholder value.
