Bankers investment trust is involved in active investment, and takes a long-term approach. Most of the portfolio is accounted for by stocks in large companies, though smaller UK companies are also represented. Bankers Trust is a value investor with a good long-term performance record. Michael Mouleis the lead fund manager, and the net asset value of the trust has gorownby more than the FTSE All Share in the decade to 1998. The trust would be hit if Moule were to leave, though he says that he intends to stay for a minimum of nine years.

Dartmoor Investment Trust has Chris Whittingslow as its lead fund manager, and the trust aims to provide increasing income as well as capital growth. The trust's main 10 holdings include Scottish National income shares and Guinness Flight Extra Income ordinary shares.
