Moravske chemicke zavody (MCHZ) (Ostrava, Czech Republic), chemical firm, invested a high sum in the protection of atmosphere during 1990-2000. It resulted in a decrease in the firm's emissions. The emissions decreased to 132 t per year in 1999 compared to 2,700 t per year at the beginning of the 1990's. The firm completed a project of the catalytic burning of waste gases from dukol production during the utilization of technology called BAT in 1999. It has completed the construction of a new industrial waste incinerating plant with a capacity of 10,000 t per year. The technology will allow the disposal of waste by burning on the level of strict European standards.
