Facilities management: companies tune in to FM

Article Abstract:

Facilities management is a growth area in the UK despite critical comments of downsizing policies made by Stephen Roach, economist. Facilities management tends to involve a long-term contract to manage non-core services. There are different types of activities from blue collar work, management to consultancy. Facilities managers may be used for security, catering and the management of buildings. Landlords such as pension funds that own buildings may use a real estate management service, for example.
