Black Country in ebullient mood

Article Abstract:

The Black Country, West Midlands, England, is undergoing regeneration as polluted land is being reclaimed. Internal communications have been improved by building new roads on former industrial sites. Midland Metro is a light rail project which is also improving communications in the region. The Black Country Development Corporation is seeking to attract new investment and this has been made easier by the new road and rail links. New companies are coming to the region and existing companies are expanding.

Stockbrokers reel from musical chairs

Article Abstract:

Stockbrokers in the West Midlands, England, have undergone changes with three new companies set up and one established company disappearing. New entrants include St Paul's Square Stockbrokers, while Williams de Broe has combined its Wolverhampton and Birmingham operations. Clients are using West Midlands companies because charges are lower than the charges of firms in London, England. Clients prefer a minimum of upheaval, argues one broker, and the changes may continue.
