Blockbuster kicks off DIRECTV sales

Article Abstract:

DIRECTV satellite TV equipment can now be bought directly from Blockbuster home video stores. Blockbuster is selling customers two system packages that are easy to understand through exclusive offers that are available only at 3,800 stores. These include one-year free rentals; $200 worth of discounts on videos, DVDs or video games; and a two-year Extended Service Plan on the DIRECTV system hardware. Blockbuster has also installed interactive kiosks for customers to view DIRECTV's service live via satellite.

Through fye, customers throughout the US are assured of a consistent shopping experience in every store and every channel. Trans World CEO Robert Higgins says fye speaks about what the company is today and what it will be in the future. It is a multi-channel entertainment environment that relies on state-of-the-art technology.

Blockbuster runs million dollar days summer promotion

Blockbuster Entertainment Corp is offering the biggest cash game prize pool through a promotional effort dubbed as 'Million Dollar Days.' Aside from cash prizes, the promotion gives out Sony home theaters, Oldsmobile mini-van and American Airlines frequent flier miles. The promotion, which is supported by comprehensive in-store POP materials, is designed to reduce the number of customers who hold memberships at many video chains.
