Bolton: Army procurement takes a wider view

Article Abstract:

A top Army procurement official has stated that the Army is addressing its acquisition programs from a broader-than-conventional view. Claude Bolton, assistant secretary of the Army for acquisition, logistics, and technology, has termed this new approach as 'Big A' approach that includes consideration of capabilities, resources, operational test and evaluation, sustainment modification, security assistance, and disposal.

Army test command takes on current threats, future systems

Article Abstract:

The Army Developmental Test Command (DTC) is working to help army men meet threats in their current combat operations while also preparing to help the service meet its modernization challenges. DTC encompasses a number of Army test centers across the United States and perform a full range of development testing, including combat boots, protective vest, missile systems, aircrafts, vehicles such as the Stryker and others.

United Defense asks Navy to give Army systems a try

Article Abstract:

United Defense Inc. in March 2005 asked United States Navy officials to evaluate aboard ship three systems the company has been testing for about a year on the Army's Bradley Fighting Vehicles. The company wants the sea service to test its Eagle Vision, Close-in Countermeasures and Palletized Protection systems.
