UK money supply: worrisome?

Article Abstract:

There is concern over the UK money supply since the growth of broad money is likely to have risen to the upper level of the monitoring range of between 3% and 9%. This means that a reduction in interest rates is unlikely. There is disagreement as to whether this is cause for concern. Some economists argue that bank lending is replacing other means of finance, while others emphasise that an increase in the money supply is likely to lead to higher inflation.

A river runs through it

Article Abstract:

Ennemix is a UK company specializing in aggregates and ready-mixed concrete, which has reported losses and seen a drop in its share price. The company was floated in 1994 and has seen a two thirds reduction in its share price thereafter. The company is awaiting a decision on whether it will be permitted to extend a quarry and a refusal would affect trading. The company lost its sales team following the flotation, and they have set up as rivals.
