CMP CONSIDERS ITS OPTIONS

Article Abstract:

There has been speculation in the technical publishing industry about the possible merger or sale of CMP Media Inc of Manhasset, NY, after CPM's hiring of Lazard Freres and Co. Information Data Group of Farmington, MA, and VNU of Harlem, The Netherlands have been mentioned as potential buyers and there has been speculation in CMP's stock on Nasdaq, as well. Shareholder responsibilities, decrease in ad space, and slow revenue growth have been cited as reasons for CMP's desire to no longer be an independent publisher.
