The first quarter of 2004 (1Q04) registered high investor confidence as US biotech companies raised from $7.3 billion to $2.8 billion in the same quarter of 2003 and also the same in the last quarter of 2003. The increase in the investor confidence was because of nine other products approved by the US FDA, ImClone Systems' Erbitux.
