Shipbuilders seek doubling of navy ship purchases in '05

The president of the American Shipbuilding Association, Cynthia Brown, has written to U.S. President George Bush, for additional funding for ship construction and conservation. She has an opinion that this creates military limitations and hampers the industries as well as workforce involved in navy shipbuilding.

General dynamics sees profits soar in 4th qtr, full year

Article Abstract:

An increase of 80.8 percent in net profits per share of General Dynamics Corp. in 2003, is reported. Profits have increased because of Pentagon contracts. There is an increase in net sales in Marine Systems unit, Information systems, Technology unit and Combat Systems unit.
