Cebrowski sees new aircraft, movable maritime airfield

Article Abstract:

According to Arthur Cebrowski, director of force transformation in the office of the Secretary of Defense, the next major transport plane for the Department of Defense (DOD) would be a type of rotorcraft called a gyrocopter that can haul 70,000 or more pounds up to 30,000 or more feet. Due to DOD there is a shift occurring in priorities and funding of major defense programs.

GAO: Pentagon to buy $49 billion of JSFs before testing

Article Abstract:

The US Department of Defense (DOD) plans to buy 424 F-35 Joint Strike Fighters (JSF) at a cost of US $49 billion without completing initial operational testing. Investing heavily in aircraft before flight-testing can entail many problems including cost growth, schedule delays and performance problems.
