Article Abstract:

Eastman Kodak has partnered with Maytag's Dixie-Narco and e-Vend.net in developing a vending machine that will sell photographic films and disposable cameras. The vending machine uses e-Vend.net's payment and reporting system for accepting payments through debit and credit cards. Kodak will start a three-year program for the installation of more than 10,000 machines at various locations. The vending machines are installed at Killington Ski Resort and Steamboat Springs in Colorado, and at zoos in Philadelphia, PA, and Atlanta, GA.

Photobition promises graphics in two days

Article Abstract:

Graphics display company Photobition USA has chosen Kodak Professional Photography Div as the exclusive supplier of photographic materials for graphics sold on its Web site. Photobition recently unveiled its online graphic site, called 2daydisplay, offering 30% discount on prices and reducing delivery time to two days. The company said the 30% discounts are possible since the display graphics are sent to customers through their distribution centers, which bypass traditional dealers.

Full-service lab offers online photofinishing for consumers

Article Abstract:

Indianapolis, IN-based Matrix Digital Photo has launched its consumer e- commerce site, Matrix Direct, located at www.matrixdigitalphoto.com. The site is aimed at digital camera users and enables them to upload JPEG or TIFF images to the site and receive 35mm-quality prints by mail. Prints are always two for one, as an added incentive. The service was launched to consumers in Sep 2000, although trials began in July.
