Considering the impact of medicine label design characteristics on patient safety

Article Abstract:

The extent to which the relationships that are revealed between design features and behavior will improve patient safety, if generalized to labeling and packaging of medicines, is considered, by reviewing research evidence in other fields like food and pesticide. While the effects of the design variables on medication errors largely remain to be quantified, an organizing framework is provided to focus research efforts in this direction.

Factors affecting performance on a target monitoring task employing an automatic tracker

Article Abstract:

The extent to which performance on a task employing an automatic tracker is similar to performance on tasks employing other types of automation is examined. The results show that people with experience can effectively use the automated tracking system and further improvements in performance will be achieved by increasing the capability of the automated system.

Effect of caffeine on target detection and rifle marksmanship

Article Abstract:

Caffeine ingestion is described to have no affect upon any of the marksmanship measures and target detection but it gives rise to a mild level of cold stress and tiredness. The discomfort experienced by the participants leads to an inclination to fire more quickly at the expense of rifle marksmanship.
