Contractors urge critical enhancements to blue-force tracking

Article Abstract:

The director of battlefield digitization for Northrop Grumman's Mission Systems sector, Mike Springman, is expecting many more innovations with tracking technology in order to integrate blue-force tracking systems with sensor systems, unmanned aerial vehicles and space-based assets. One of them was the Force XXI Battle Command Brigade and Below (FBCB2), which made its combat debut in Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Northrop, EADS pair on Air Force personnel recovery vehicle

(EADS) North America are planning to work in a joint venture to make the Air ForceEs next generation combat search and rescue aircraft, the Personnel Recovery Vehicle (PRV). These teams are expected to bring together the best in combat-proven integrated battle management systems and leading-edge helicopter technology.

Eurocopter seeks U.S. partner for Air Force contracts

Article Abstract:

European aeronauts group Eurocopter is looking to partner with a U.S. company to bid on a search-and-rescue helicopter for the Air Force. Christoph Mueller, press officer for Eurocopter, stated that the company's NH90 would be ideal as the Air Force's Personnel Recovery Vehicle and a rescue aircraft, which the service is planning to buy in significant numbers.
