Converting biotech scientists to managers

Article Abstract:

The transformation from technical contributor to technical manager is difficult but in biotech companies, scientists are being given responsibility for people and projects, without thinking about the repercussions of such a decision. Bioentrepreneurs who want to promote a top technical contributor into management should realize that such a promotion could be harmful for his company as a management candidate should show be strong in all the skill areas and this failure could also affect the career of the technical professional.

Signal transduction inhibitors-a work in progress

Article Abstract:

The use of protein kinase inhibitors in the clinical industry inorder to market their medicines is presented. The setbacks using these inhibitors will reflect variety of factors such as including a rush to get compounds into the clinic, a lack of validated biomarkers and insufficient characterization of patient populations appropriate for treatment.
