Credit insurance is ready for take-off

Article Abstract:

Credit insurance is a guarantee of insurance companies to wholesalers, manufacturers and service organizations that they will be paid for the goods shipped or services rendered. Most companies buy credit insurance at times when global sales are growing to insure receivables and to avoid bad credit decisions. The insurance, aside from providing various tax advantages, also helps small businesses in getting essential bank financing. However, credit insurers are also subject to some hurdles considering that the insurance only benefits companies that are borrowing against receivables.

Charge!

Article Abstract:

Competition is heating up in the travel & entertainment (T&E) charge card industry, with banking giants being challenged by financial services firms and credit card companies. The $183 bil T&E industry is dominated by American Express, with a 50% market share, followed by Diners Club. Corporate finance officers believe that in choosing a T&E provider, card acceptance, and compatibility of expense reporting is of paramount importance. This last quality is the basis for competition among T&E providers, who are offering integrated expense reporting to corporate clients.
