Article Abstract:

Czech Republic: Over 50% of consumers purchase tools and other household and garden supplies in hypermarkets or large specialized shops. This results from a research of the marketing company Incoma (Prague, Czech Republic). The six strongest hobby-market networks, OBI CR (Prague, Czech Republic), Baumax CR (Czech Republic), Hornbach CR (Czech Republic), Baumarkt CR (Czech Republic), Mountfield (Mnichovice, Czech Republic) and Bauhaus CR (Czech Republic), have 93 shops with a selling area of 350,000 sq mt currently. Their total turnover amounted to more than CEK 16 bil in 2000.
