Daimler in AEG headache

Article Abstract:

Daimler-Benz has reassured employees at the company's subsidiary, AEG, that reports of 100,000 job losses at AEG are premature. There will already be 8,000 jobs shed from Dasa, the group's aerospace division, which will involve costs that will lead to losses for 1995. Further job losses would lead to further losses in 1996. Daimler argues that it aims to sell the industrial automation and power engineering activities of AEG, but does not plan further shrinkages.
