Digital down-conversion

Article Abstract:

A process has been developed for the digital generation of the quadrature and in-phase parts of a radar receiver's intermediate frequency signal. A pilot down-converter with 60MHz intermediate frequency is described. The digital down-conversion algorithm is presented, with focus on unweighted filter, oversampling gain, image rejection and amplitude and phase response. The digital down-converter implementation is also described, including digital down-conversion integrated circuit and analogue-to-digital conversion. The first-order low-pass pre-filter is also overviewed.

Car servicing/MOT

Article Abstract:

The total UK market for servicing and repairing cars amounted to an estimated 9.43 billion pounds sterling in 1999, up just 4% since 1994. Despite this, the number of people who service their own cars is falling, mainly because of the increasing complexity of engines and the rising number of women drivers. The UK car servicing and repair market is set to reach 10.58 billion pounds sterling by 2004.
