Druid: software sages

Article Abstract:

Druid is an information technology consultancy which plans a share issue in Nov 1996. The company is carrying out the share issue at a time when demand for its services is increasing. The company forecasts a profit of 1.75 million pounds sterling for 2nd half 1996. Druid focuses on software from SAP and could be affected by a drop in demand for SAP products. The flotation appears to be a way for venture capital backers to exit, but is still attractive since the company has potential.

Information technology

Article Abstract:

An information technology index has been set up by the United Kingdom stock exchange and this has led to a rise in stock prices in the sector. The sector includes software and services companies and consultancies. Services companies should benefit from a growing market and demand will be boosted by European monetary union and the Year 2000 computer transition problem. Staff shortages could become a problem, and there is uncertainty about growth rates after 2002.
