Dur to be replaced by Teel at helm of Northrop Ship Systems

Article Abstract:

Philip Teel took over the stewardship of Northrop Grumman Corp. unit Ship Systems from Philip Dur at a critical time when the US Navy is cutting back on its planned purchases of next-generation DD(X) destroyers. An ex Raytheon man, Teel joined Northrop Grumman in 2000 and received the bachelor and master of science degrees from the Georgia Institute of Technology and George Washington University respectively.

Lockheed Martin Corp. believes that its new Joint Common Missile (JCM) has the potential to become the air-to-ground weapon for the US and allied militaries, growing beyond an initial program value of $5billion. Lockheed Martin's director of tactical missiles, Rick Edwards feel that the total number of JCM's Lockheed Martin makes could rise with orders from the United Kingdom.

Ship crew swaps work, but may be rough on personnel

Article Abstract:

Sea Swap comprise of more than one crew per ship enabling the vessel to remain on patrol or in combat without the need to waste time transiting back the way and when one crew needs shore leave or training, another could substitute. Swapping Sea Swap crews will be easier on future classes of ships because they have been designed for operation with far fewer personnel.
