Ecological models of human performance based on affordance, emotion and intuition

Article Abstract:

A complementary approach to Rasmussen's taxonomy of the human skill, rule and knowledge based performance models are examined by combining the ecological concept of affordances with neural concepts of human emotion and intuition. The findings indicate that these intuition-based models correspond to three types of human performance such as learning, adaptive and tuning control.

Development of error-compensating UI for autonomous production cells

Article Abstract:

Autonomous production cells are used to illustrate an error-compensating system design in order to specify human errors and their effects in terms of system disturbances. The findings indicate that human errors play a dominant role in overall system performance in Flexible Manufacturing systems (FMS).
