Effects of different task factors on speed and preferences in Chinese handwriting

Article Abstract:

The speed of Chinese handwriting and the effects of the task factors, tool type, paper texture, writing plane angle, and line spacing on writing speed and subjective preferences are explored. The results obtained are useful in establishing standards for handwriting performance that will provide a basis for some useful design recommendations as regards desirable work conditions for handwriting tasks.

Psychometric evaluation of the Early/Late Preferences Scale

Article Abstract:

Comparisons indicate that the Early/Late Preferences Scale (PS) is similar psychometrically to the Composite Morningness Scale (CS) in evaluating employee attitudes toward shift work. Both methods provided equivalent total mean scores and satisfactory inter-item correlations, but since PS offers lower cultural specificity and a simpler format, it may be an improvement over CS.
