Environmental cap setter

Article Abstract:

London-based building materials firm Hanson was able to negotiate an innovative $800 mil environmental liability insurance policy through the efforts of Peter Statile. Hanson executive Statile was able to negotiate the huge insurance policy by examining the potential environmental liabilities faced by Hanson in its acquisition of US-based Beazer, and negotiating such potential and future liabilities with insurers. Insurance broker Sedgwick and reinsurers Centre Solutions and Swiss Re, worked with Statile which made Hanson responsible for the first $100 mil in liabilities with both reinsurers working on the next $800 mil funds for future liabilities.
