Crown Equipment's RR5000 and RR5000S forklifts were nominated Best of Category in the 1999 Design Award equipment sector, along with IBM Netfinity Servers. Other products in the category include the Microsoft Digital Sound System, Clio Handheld PC, Bridge Sentry Medication Management System and the Tomey AutoTopographer Corneal Evaluation Unit. The panel of judges focused on efficiency and functionality.

The Audi TT Coupe was awarded 'Best of Category' (consumer products) in the 1999 Design Review, along with the Apple iMac and Power Macintosh G3 computers. The panel of judges were looking for 'square, cool and beautiful' products. Other products which were commended include the Yeoman Map Plotter, Swingline Contura Stapler, Pickup Vehicle, Oral-B CrossAction Toothbrush, and the Swatch Twinphone.

Article Abstract:

The Landscape Office System, which was designed by Jonathan Crinion Associates, was awarded the Best of Category (furniture) prize at the 1999 Design Review. The system, which was selected from 200 entries, is simple, flexible and minimalist. Other entries included the Kart Nesting Chair, Bellini Chair, Tara Bridge Faucet, Gira Door Handle and Tall Grass Baby Crib.
