Esco Electronics Corp is assessing the profitability of the commercial markets for its products. The firm, however, will still focus on supplying the defense industry despite expected defense budget cuts. Esco also posted profits of about 9 cents per share for the fiscal nine months through Jun 1992 despite relatively low sales during the same period. The firm is determined to lessen its fixed-price development segment. Esco does not pay any dividend on the 11.2 million shares.

The sale of $2.8 million worth of toll collection and traffic management equipment to the Harris County Toll Collection Authority and other sales deals have propelled Amtech Corp to the fore of the electronic vehicle identification and revenue collection industry. The company reported profits for the quarter ending Mar 1992 although the stock has returned only 16 of the previous 52-week range high of almost 30.
