Article Abstract:

The Greek attitude that humanity is separate from nature remains prevalent in contemporary times and is cited as causing both achievement and harm. Thus, the opposite concept, that mankind must be viewed as part of nature and the cosmos, is urged to be taught, particularly to designers of products. Anthropomorphic and anthropo-functional objects, such as gloves and Vertebra chairs, are considered wise examples of where to base one's aesthetics, since they are extensions of the body that peacefully reconcile humanity with the outside world, unlike subjective such as like cultural semantics.

Social design: the new imperative

Article Abstract:

Designing is not entirely an aesthetic concern. Social design assumes that the profession has responsibilities, not only in preventing problems that may arise from faulty designing, but also in advancing the quality of human life. This approach seeks to make designing relevant by producing works marked by simplicity, inexpensiveness and use of native materials. The task of the social designer is to be sensitivite to the needs of users by making designs that fulfill individual as well as cultural demands.
