Training the market

Article Abstract:

MediaKey is involved in training through Video Arts, its main business, and is also involved in publishing. The company was floated in Jan 1996 and called itself a multimedia concern. The fashion for multimedia changed and this hit MediaKey's stock price. The company would be better described as a training concern and its videos are well known, while the market for training is expanding in the United Kingdom. The company could achieve a profit of 2.8 million pounds sterling for 1997 rising to 4.5 million pounds for 1998, according to Beeson Gregory.

Corporate deals

Article Abstract:

Leeds, England, is a major financial and legal center for business deals. There has been some slowing of activity, though certain areas are buoyant. There was a rise of 14% in buyouts in 1998 in the region of Yorkshire, England, with 65 buy-outs in that year. Smaller companies have found that the stock market has not fulfilled their needs, and many of these companies are seeking help from the private equity sector, when they have a requirement for capital.
