Fiat

Article Abstract:

Fiat saw a rise in revenue and sales in 1995, boosted by the launch of the group's Punto model. The group hopes that its Bravo/Brava model will also be successful in 1996. The weak lira also helped Fiat's sales in 1995, and this could change in 1996 since the lira has been recovering. The truck market is also less buoyant in 1996 than it was in 1995. The company should have greater success in Brazil in 1996, since problems faced there in 1995 are not likely to arise again.

Vickers: needing extra in the tank

Article Abstract:

Vickers is a major engineering firm which produces tanks and Bentley and Rolls Royce cars. The company's share price dropped in 1992 and has since recovered but does not look likely to perform strongly. Demand for tanks has been thin and the company could have to close a plant. A new Roll-Royce model is to be launched but demand for these vehicles is cyclical and the launch of the car could take place close to the peak of the business cycle.
