Five lost keys to management information

Article Abstract:

There are data base management systems (DBMSs) which can satisfy the requirements of both accountants and line managers, but the successful implementation of such systems is best accomplished by a project management strategy controlled by accountancy. The five components of that strategy are: overall project management, implementation of a coherent DBMS design, communications regarding the DBMS both before and after implementation, training, and testing. Control of the DBMS must address input, processing, output, and file integrity.
