Article Abstract:

Leadership is a concept that is difficult to explain. It is often associated with such words as power, dominance, decisiveness and analysis, but these terms do not really offer a clear definition of what a leader is. In reality, leaders are not always the fired-up, up-front workaholics portrayed on television. Like other people, they are fallible and cannot predict or control everything that affects their business. Unfortunately, as pointed out in a collection of essays on leadership published by ER Consultants, the margin for error in leadership has grown narrower in an environment where business organizations have become more vulnerable to error. Management theories in recent years have actually been control theories in that they have been used more often for control instead of leadership.
