For traders... silence can be golden

Article Abstract:

Insider information is a source of trading behavior trends. Most insiders from various corporations disposed of their shares in late 1992 prior to Pres Bill Clinton's tax increase scheme. There are some insiders, however, who continued to hold on to their holdings such as those from Intel, Wells Fargo and Elcor. The reluctance led to substantial profits for these certain insiders as fundamentals came out. Five issues that have yet to see significant insider selling include Fleetwood Enterprises, Martin Marietta, Mylan Laboratories, Unum Corp and WMS Industries.

From an insider perspective

Article Abstract:

Analysis of the Dow Jones Industrial Average indicates a bearish market and larger corporate stocks are preferred in early 1993. Analysis of the Industry Sectors suggests minimal economic resurgence as insiders from cyclical firms remain inactive. The gold sector has more insider purchase than electric utility issues. The buy/sell cluster program, on the other hand, shows a bearish outlook while persistent insider distribution in the NASDAQ stocks was observed.

Who's afraid of market risk?

Article Abstract:

Most stock market analysts feel that market activity is 60% responsible for share price movements while fundamental factors account for the remaining 40%. CDA-Investnet relies primarily on corporate insider actions in predicting the potential direction of share prices. The speculations are based on two programs that can assess insider behavior. One of the programs is the sell-buy ratio and the other is the buy-sell cluster program.
