Ford Motor Credit sells $1 billion notes

Article Abstract:

Ford Motor Credit (FMC) sold $1 billion of debt in a two part offering. The details of these credit notes are discussed. FMC is a finance arm of Ford Motors. A comparison of the performance of bonds issued by General Motors and Ford Motors is also presented. General Motors recently announced a cost-cutting agreement with its labor union, and Ford Motors is expected to follow the suit. Other high-yield issues in October, 2005, like $730 million of gaming division bonds issued by Seminol Tribe of Florida are also discussed.

Satellite operator issues $2.55 billion of notes

Article Abstract:

Intelsat Bermuda sold $2.55 billion of notes in the biggest US high-yield debt since July 2003. A group of private-equity firms is buying the global satellite operator for $3 billion.
