The impact of attitude, information, situation, and behavior on problem recognition: the agrichemical training debate

Article Abstract:

A majority of primary producers in New Zealand have not participated in agrichemical training courses that guarantees beneficial information regarding agrichemical handling and utilization. A study shows that refusal to join was relatively due to attitudinal, behavioral, informational, and situational factors. Despite of the health risk associated with wrongful use of agrichemicals, many producers reject the idea of joining agrichemical training programs because they see themselves as experienced handlers of chemicals who are practicing safely and efficiently.
