High-tech marketers now half of top 100

Article Abstract:

High-technology companies accounted for 49 out of the top 100 business-to-business advertisers (B-to-B) for 1995. These companies combined for a total of $1.45 billion in advertising spending for the year. Despite the 26.5% increase in B-to-B spending, total advertising spending was below earlier expectations due mainly to the lower advertising expenditures of Compaq Computer Corp., Intel Corp. and Digital Equipment Corp.

High-tech companies heading up ad growth

Article Abstract:

High-technology companies head the list of the 1998 Top 100 Business-to-business Advertisers ranked by the 'Business Marketing' periodical. These companies are responsible for 70.6% of all measured advertising spending in 1997. This trend has caused overall business-to-business spending to increase by 7.7%. Some of the companies heading the list are Microsoft Corp, Hewlett-Packard Co, AT&T Corp and Compaq Computer Corp.

Business-to-business 43% of agency billings

Article Abstract:

Business-to-business marketing rose by 25% during 1994 to $2.8 billion from $2.3 billion a year earlier. Business publications' media spending accounted for $467 million of the total media and marketing spending while the category which includes direct mail, outdoor and transit advertising spent $360 million. The top business-to-business firm is Ketchum Advertising which posted $156 million in billings during 1994.
