Homeland Security needs more money: Authors

Article Abstract:

The intelligence analysts have stated that the US needs to boost it's spending on Homeland Security by a significant degree to protect itself from domestic attacks by Islamic terrorists. The authors of the book 'The Next Attack' Daniel Benjamin and Steven Simon believe that the US should use money as leverage for tipping governments towards repressing terrorism within their borders and should focus on the high-end targets that terrorists might try to hit.

Analysts see gaps between budget, QDR

Article Abstract:

The defense analysts are finding few conflicts between the Quadrennial Defense Review (QDR) and the defense budget for the fiscal year ending September 30, 2007, over long-range military needs. The gap between the proposed 2007 budget and the QDR is due to the fact that the QDR's conclusions would not start affecting the Department of Defense (DOD) budgets until the 2008 budget cycle.
